CAMP CIRILO S. TOLENTINO, Bataan – The Provincial Advisory Council (PAC) serving as an advisory body to the PNP which have significantly contributed to the implementation of the PNP Peace and Order Agenda for Transformation and upholding the Rule of Law (P.A.T.R.O.L.), headed by GM Charlie Pizarro, on their third quarterly meeting, resolved and approved the adoption of the slogan-making contest, the “sumbong bilis” monitoring team as their project, as well as the reorganization of their members.
In a resolution penned by the members of the multi-sectoral group composed of the local government academe, business sector, non-government organizations, religious sector and representatives from media, it is stated that through the slogan-making contest, the youth and other participants can express their ideas, their roles in the PNP’s campaign against illegal drugs thru repetitive expressions and creative way of promoting to the public that will help achieve the goals of the PNP in clearing drug-affected barangays.
Meanwhile, the adoption of the “sumbong bilis” monitoring team project by the PAC, will relevantly address issues and concerns of the team in tracking and monitoring the surrenderers and likewise, contribute in the technical know-how, evaluate the implementation of the project for further development and help sustain in clearing drug-affected barangays.
In his message, PNP Provincial Director Benjie Silo said that much have been accomplished by the “sumbong bilis” monitoring team, establishing groups in the 237 barangays of the province, 12 municipal centers and 1 provincial center.
Moreover, it’s our pride that PNP Region 3, would like to replicate and adopt the concept of the “sumbong bilis” but the problem remains that many of the other provinces have not yet cleared their barangays.
PSSupt. Silo also reiterated that the PNP had already conceptualized the wholistic approach of the sumbong bilis, wherein “sustainability” is already in place after clearing the barangays, their next level, he (Silo) added would be reaching out to remote sitios and barangays of the province, which they have already started and hope to completely cascade the activity before the year ends.
GM Charlie Pizarro, Chairman of the PAC, in his closing message, said that with the provincial government headed by Governor Abet Garcia, he will continue to support the council and will always be on the side of the PNP to work hand-in-hand for the best welfare and interest of the province.
