CAMP CIRILO S. TOLENTINO, Bataan – “Sumbong Bilis” an arm of the Bataan PNP, organized to enhance their “OPLAN double barrel” to win the war against illegal drugs, hold its first provincial meeting to evaluate its accomplishments.
PSSupt. Benjamin Silo said that the creation of the “sumbong bilis” as a monitoring team of the PNP at the barangay level, having launched the program only last September, with all the municipal coordinators in the 11 towns and 1 city, has been very visible in their volunteerism activities in effectively gathering information, validating reports, observing lawless elements in the community and tracking of drug surrenderers.
The Bataan PNP have high hopes, seeing the group’s interest in asking a lot of questions during the meeting, not only to harmonize their activities but more so, to learn and come up with better schemes and strategies.
With all these, Provincial Director Silo emphasized that, to create a wide range of information dissemination, each “sumbong bilis” coordinator should not only contain their scheme of information dissemination among themselves but should spread it to their families, relatives, friends, school authorities, students, street vendors and other ordinary people at the barangay level, to saturate their awareness and create a more immediate and effective way of reporting.
It is not enough, according to PD Silo, that we have been declared as “Bataan, the First Drug-Free province in the country” but must work harder to sustain it with more effective measures.
PD Silo reiterated that, with 700 police force in the province, “we cannot do it alone, hindi po namin magagawa ito nang matagumpay kung hindi namin kayo kasama,” PD Benjamin Silo stressed.
