CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – Committed to fulfill its mandate, that is maintaining the prevailing peace and order in the locality that plays a major role in the economic development of the province, the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) chaired by Gov. Albert S. Garcia held its 1st General Assembly for the year 2016.
Attended by heads of local and national government agencies, the activity started with a detailed report of PD Rhodel Sermonia of the Philippine National Police (PNP) on the agency’s activities, best practices and accomplishments; followed by the report from the Philippine Army on the insurgency situation. Both reports gave the assurance that the prevailing peace and order situation is conducive to the attainment of the province’s vision that by 2020 Bataan will be the preferred location for eco-industrial investments leading to the highest human development index in the Philippines.
Bernardino Santiago of the Department of the Interior Local Government (DILG) underscored among the attendees the functionality of the council. Gen. Manager Carlos Pizarro of the Metro Bataan Development Authority (MBDA) on the other hand gave a briefing on the functions and services of the MBDA to the general public.
