PSA Bataan Conducts 2014 ASPBI and 2014 STEP

CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – The Philippine Statistics Authority Bataan (PSA) Provincial Statistical Services Office is currently conducting the 2014 Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (ASPBI) and 2014 Survey of Tourism Establishments in the Philippines (STEP) through distribution of survey forms to sample establishments in the province starting April 22, 2015.

The 2014 ASPBI is a nationwide survey that will collect in information on the levels, structures and trends of economic activities of the formal sector of the economy for 2014. It is the 43rd round since the conduct of the 1956 Annual Survey of Manufactures.

The 2014 STEP aims to collect and generate information on the tourism characteristic establishments in the country. The data to be collected for the 2014 STEP will be valuable in providing data on the following: supply and capacity in terms of facilities and service, employment by sex and nationality, revenue generated and indicators for future expansion and/or renovation plans.

Enumeration for the survey involves distribution of survey questionnaires by personal delivery to sample establishments and collection. Collection of survey questionnaires may be through personal visit of PSA staff and hired statistical researchers or by use of online facility https://aspbi.psa.gov.ph and https://step.psa.gov.ph.

PSA staff underwent 2014 ASPBI and 2014 STEP third level training from April 13 to 17, 2015 in preparation to the field operation. The 2014 ASPBI and 2014 STEP collection of questionnaires will start on May 4, 2015.
