CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – The Samahan ng mga Taong May Kapansanan sa Bataan (SATAMAKABA) Community-Based Rehabilitation Inc., in partnership with the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) is celebrating the Women With Disability (WWD) Day today at the Audio Visual Room of Bataan Tourism Center, this City.
“Patunay po na ang ating bansa ay kinikilala ang mga kababaihang may kapansanan. Kung kaya’t kayo po ay binibigyan ng espesyal na pansin,” said Ms. Marilyn C. Tigas, PSWDO Head and Provincial Council on Disability Affairs Vice-Chair and Secretariat.
“Ang gawain po natin ngayon ay bilang pakikiisa sa Proclamation 744 o ang pagbibigay ng espesyal na araw para sa mga WWDs,” she added.
Topics discussed during the program includes: “How to start a business? Costing and Pricing” by Ms. Rebecca Samson of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, “Financial Management” by Ms. Ma. Concepcion Sanico of the Department of Trade and Industry and “Kabuhayan Program” which was introduced by Ms. Leilanie Reynoso of the Department of Labor and Employment.
As a continuation from the previous year’s Empowerment Seminars with topics on Self-awareness, Leadership and Personality Development, this year’s celebration focused on Entrepreneurship Development to promote inclusive development for PWDs (Persons with Disability) particularly on the economic side.
This year’s activity revolved around the theme: “Kapakanan at Karapatan ni Juanang may Kapansanan, Isama sa Plano ng Bayan.”
Participants in the event include WWDs, PWD Presidents and Focal Persons coming from the different municipalities of Bataan.
