BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Millions of retiree pensioners will no longer be required to comply with the Annual Confirmation of Pensioners (ACOP) Program.

According to SSS Bataan Head, Joey Villafuerte, as a directive from the state run Social Security System (SSS), all retiree pensioners will no longer be required to report to SSS branch in their area of residence during their birth month and comply with ACOP to ensure continuous payment of their monthly pension.

Villafuerte said that retirees whose applications for pension were approved as of end of September 2017 will already benefit from the removal of the ACOP compliance requirement. Said requirement used to be implemented to ensure that the benefits are received by the rightful beneficiaries.

Villafuerte added that SSS will just be conducting verification procedures to confirm if pensioner is still alive and entitled to SSS benefits.

However, retirees residing outside the country and their survivors are still required to comply with ACOP.
