BALANGA CITY – Secretary Joel Villanueva of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) on Thursday led the 2nd mass graduation of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) scholars and regular students at the Bataan People’s Center.
Villanueva was joined by Bataan Governor Albert S. Garcia, Orani Mayor Benjie Serrano, Jr. and other local officials. The first mass graduation was held last March of this year with some 1,400 TVET graduates and 200 STEP scholars. Around 1,800 students from various technical vocational institutions attended said affair.
Villanueva also awarded the training for work scholarship program (TWSP) and private education student financial assistance PESFA Scholarship Vouchers amounting to P13.2 million to 11 institutions.
Winners of the provincial skills and socio-cultural competition were awarded with prizes and recognition. The competition, which started last August 24, 2015, comprised 16 areas of competition namely: Automotive Technology, Computer Aided Design, Cookery, Electrical Installation and Maintenance, Electronics, Fashion Technology, Hotel and Restaurant Services, IT Network Systems and Administration, IT Software Solutions for Business Mobile Robotics, Beauty Therapy, Visual Graphics and Design, Web Design, Welding, Hairdressing, and Plumbing and Heating.
