Tourism officer urges folks to go local

IN THE wake of hysteria about the dreaded corona virus (Covid-19) Bataan Tourism Officer Alice D. Pizarro encouraged local tourists to patronize tourist spots in the province instead of going to other countries. IGREG REFRACCION

Pizarro who is in the thick of preparation for the “Araw ng Kagitingan” activities, observed a drop in the tourists arrival not only in Bataan but also in other parts of the globe because of the contagion.
She said the Department of Tourism will continue to promote travel to domestic destinations even after the Philippines has confirmed cases of local transmission of Covid-19.
Bataan province have many tourist destinations that will attract local tourists, among them the Mt. Samat Shrines, Sinagtala Adventure and Wellness Park in Orani, the pristine beaches in Bagac and Morong towns, among others.

Tourism Secretary Berna Puyat is pushing for domestic tourism so that the establishments are able to operate at a viable level.
No less than President Duterte himself had called on the public to visit the various destinations throughout the country.
