CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – The United Architects of the Philippines (UAP)-Balanga Chapter recently conducted its first General Membership Meeting (GMM) for the Fiscal Year 2016-2017 held at the Lou-is Resort and Restaurant, this City, Aug. 21.

“Ito yung event kung saan nag-ga- gather ang lahat ng mga members ng UAP for the purpose of presenting the activities and programs na gagawin namin,” said Ar. Olivia Robles, Chapter President.

The GMM also served as an avenue for advanced learning for the architects. Some problems were also addressed during the activity.

“Kasi gusto namin, yung knowledge namin, laging nadadagdagan.

After the event, the president expects the participants to be more active and cooperative with the activities of the organization and to exude a strong camaraderie among the licensed architects.

“Last year, about 40-50 lang ang uma-attend sa GMM, pero this year 96 kami lahat, nakakatuwa kasi yung improvement nandoon,” Ar. Robles stressed.

“Yung UAP, ito yung IAPOA na tinatawag o yung Integrated and Accredited Professional Organization of Architects. Sa buong Pilipinas, sa Area A kami kabilang specifically sa District A-2B,” Ar. Karl Engelene Poblete, Chapter Secretary, explained.

Also, according to Ar. Poblete, UAP exists not only for making designs or drawings, but also for its social responsibility like the Bayanihan Arkitektura, Balangkasan, sports activities and other outreach and charity programs.
