Felicito C. Payumo of UNC-B said the university had just signed a memorandum of agreement with the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP) for the maritime subjects that will be offered as a curriculum in the said university.
Admiral Eduardo Santos of MAAP said maritime instructors shall be provided by the academy.
“The students will have the chance to get on simulator vessel and training ship of MAAP,” Santos said.
Presently, there are 14 maritime students from Dinalupihan studying at MAAP. A ship captain who is now the manager of manning company is from Dinalupihan town, Santos informed the UNC students.
He urged UNC students to take up maritime and become a successful seafarer.
