AFAB promotes gender responsive strategies, reviews GAD programs

   MARIVELES, Bataan – Employees of the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) vowed to promote and support gender equality after undergoing a training–workshop on Gender Sensitivity and Introduction to Gender and Development (GAD) Planning and Budgeting.

BFAR lifts shellfish ban in Bataan

   BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Provincial Agriculturist of Bataan based in this component city announced Monday morning that the shellfish ban is now lifted by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).

   In a news briefing with Bataan reporters, Imelda Inieto, Chief of the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) said the central office of BFAR released the lifting of shellfish ban effective Monday August 18, 2014.

DENR-Bataan has new chief

   PILAR, Bataan – The provincial office of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR-Bataan) has its new chief.   

  Recently, Raul H. Mamac in a simple turnover ceremony replaced Fred Sadueste as Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer (PENRO) of the said agency.

AFAB supports anti-dengue drive

   MARIVELES, Bataan – The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) through its Community Services Department assisted an elementary school here in its mosquito fogging activities to help secure a healthy and safe environment for students.

   AFAB Enterprise Services Officers Francis Anthony Emata and Kelvin Rodriguez; Senior Industrial Relations Officer Menchie Sanchez and four other AFAB officers assisted the teachers and students of the Renato Cayetano Elementary School in Barangay Maligaya in the fogging operation.

Watershed tree planting

  ORANI, Bataan -The Orani Water District (OWD) conducted a tree-planting activity at the Orani Water District Watershed Area Bataan Natural Park last Saturday, aptly dubbed as Watershed Tree Planting.

  “We have targeted 10,000 Tibig trees for this year”, said OWD General Manager Benny Andres who led the planting activity. The official also explained that Tibig tree holds more water compared to other species. They have already planted 20,000 tibig trees in the area for the past two years.

Orion Rescue created

  ORION, Bataan – The Municipal Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Council (MDRRMC) of Orion, headed by its Chairperson Mayor Antonio L. Raymundo, Jr. in close coordination with Mrs. Teresita Senora of the Provincial Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC) conducted a training on First Aid, Bandaging, Carrying and Water Rescue at the Pawikan Conservation Center in Nagbalayong, Morong last August 13-15.
