36 PDLs finish graduate through ALS

A total of 36 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) at the Bataan District Jail received their diplomas after completing elementary and high school through the Department of Education (DepEd) program, Alternative Learning System (ASL) last Friday, July 12.
Thirty (30) PDLs graduated from highschool while five (5) finished the elementary level from both male and female dorms. The graduates, dressed in white academic gown, went up on stage to receive their diplomas. ASL teachers and families of the graduates were present during the ceremony.
In his speech, BJMP RO-3 Assistant Paralegal Officer, Atty. Patrick Xavier Co, shared his story of failure and success to inspire the graduates and said no matter what they went through, there is always a second chance to improve, excel and develop.
The Alternative Learning System (ALS) is a program under DepEd to give all Filipinos, even PDLs, the chance to complete their education.
