MARIVELES, Bataan – The Philippine Minnesotan Medical Association (PMMA), a non-profit organization, in partnership with the Provincial Government of Bataan, Municipality of Mariveles and GNPower will conduct a Medical, Surgical and Dental mission from January 31 to February 5 at the Mariveles District Hospital building (Former PUP Mariveles).
The following services will be offered for free: Out-patient consultations with free complete medications; Orthopedic consultations with provisions of crutches and walkers; Surgical operations for cleft lip/palate (Bingot), goiter, gynecologic cases (myoma, tubal ligation, hysterectomy), among others; Minor operations (Mass/bukol, other skin growth, circumcision, etc); Psychiatric consultations for depression and anxiety; Dental extractions and Eye consultations. Thousands of reading glasses will also be provided for free.
Preoperative laboratory screening will be done at the Bataan General Hospital on the 3rd and 4th weeks of January. Starting January 31, all patients who will undergo operation will screened at scheduled by the PMMA at the Mariveles District Hospital from 8:00 AM onwards. All OPD and minor OR will be done from February 1 to 4 at 8:00 AM up to 5:30 PM while surgery will be up to 9:00PM.
In gratitude to the PMMA and other proponents of this medical mission, Governor Abet Garcia will host a dinner on February 4 at the Oriental Hotel. Medical mission activities will resume the next day, February 5 up to 12:00 noon only, to give way for the Turn over Ceremony of the medical equipment that the group will donate to the province thru the governor.
Please coordinate with your local health center doctors to submit names of patients for operation on or before January 20, with the following data: Name, Age, Birthday, Address, Contact Numbers & Anticipated operation.
All OPD consultations from different municipalities should coordinate with their Local Municipal Health Doctors or Rural Health Physicians for transportation and scheduling, transportartion and food to be shouldered by the sending LGU.
