CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – As part of the strategy formulation for the upcoming holy week, the Bataan Police Provincial Office (BPPO) headed by PS Supt. Rhodel Sermonia, calls for the mobilization and activation of the Tourist Oriented Police for Community Order and Protection (TOP COP) as they initiated a dialogue conference with resort owners along the province, held yesterday at Camp Cirilo Tolentino, this City.
“We expect that the province of Bataan will be visited by more tourists again. Ang mahalaga is that they have to feel safe in Bataan. 2015 has been a very nice year to us dahil bumaba po ang crime incidents natin which eventually led to the enticement of different tourists in the province,” Col. Sermonia pointed out.
To ensure that community-based projects produce immediate and positive impact on the peace and order in the community, Atty. Rafael Dumlao III, Deputy Provincial Director for Operations of BPPO, gave the briefing on TOP COP as he explained its value-added program.
TOP COP was launched last March 31, 2015 to promote local and foreign tourism in the province by strengthening the fight against criminality and lawlessness. The TOP COP unit is composed of well-trained PNP personnel to serve as the main operators and front liners in the assistance, protection and security of visiting tourists in the province.
