MARIVELES, Bataan – A prominent member of the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) of this industrial town, sees the transformation of the town into an investment hub in Central Luzon .
Lawyer Ace Jello Concepcion, chair of Mariveles Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Committee on Justice told print and broadcast journalists during a press conference held at the Seaside Restaurant here that the local town officials have closely coordinated with officers of the fastest growing Freeport in the country through the formation of an effective framework ensuring a healthy business environment for investors and locators.
The thirty-three year old lawyer stressed the strategic economic importance and great tourism potential of Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB), the country’s first export processing zone and geographic location of the historic town as a gateway to Metro Manila are major components which determine the strong entrepreneurial advantages on the part of local and foreign capitalists.
Concepcion noted the AFAB has secured 28 new business projects worth P 6.2 billion last year which eventually is described as the overflowing corporate confidence of the investors to the good governance policy of the provincial and municipal officials in Bataan.
Major locators include a manufacturer of high-end bags and accessories, a food processing firm and corporations with business related to renewable energy projects and tourism development.
He added the investment undertakings were spilled out into industries of manufacturing, business process outsourcing (BPO), information technology, power and tourism.
