PILAR, Bataan – A top official of the Land Transportation Office here revealed that they have laid out plans to assist the big volume of motorists come Holy week as he warned owners and operators of mini buses and passenger jeepneys that they will not allow them to utilize their defective vehicles.
Ronald Dabu, chief of LTO in Bataan, said that he will post his men along the highway in Brgys. Balsik and Palihan in Hermosa and in Balanga to provide emergency assistance to motorists who may encounter trouble, among others.
According to Dabu, they will coordinate closely with the personnel of the Metro Bataan Development Authority (MBDA) under its general manager Charlie Pizarro to post their patrol vehicles and men along the highways for the protection of motorists and passengers who are either going home or going out for vacation to various provinces.
Dabu, however, issued warning to transport vehicles’ owners that he will impose sanctions against those using defective vehicles since what is at stake here is the safety of the motorists. “We will not allow them to travel once we noted that their vehicles are defective and compromise the safety of the public,” said Dabu.
He said that they will also conduct inspections in transport terminals to see for themselves if the vehicles are fit to travel. “Maski may pasahero na sila ay patitigilin namin, di namin sila papayagang magbiyahe kung depektibo ang kanilang pampasaherong sasakyan,” added Dabu
