Retirement villages soon to rise

MARIVELES, Bataan – Metro Manila property developers are eyeing the inimitable landscape of three coastal villages in this town as logical sites of providing not only the ideal but also one that is built in an eco-friendly and sustainable community for health and retirement tourism industry.

Luis G. Gonzales, municipal administrator of Mariveles, identified the three preferred coastal villages of Cabcaben, Alas-Asin and Bian, a few kilometers away from the country’s first export processing zone and facing the world-renowned Corregidor Island fortress.

Gonzales, a licensed real estate broker and appraiser underscored the naturally aesthetic and panoramic views of Mariveles town as a gateway to Manila Bay as the most captivating features for the expanding tourism industry.

According to Gonzales, the historical significance and highly-protected World War II battle grounds remain the sought-after educational and memorial destination of foreign and local tourists in the locality.

According to Gonzales, a number of movie and television personalities have enjoyed their short but refreshing leisure and memorable holiday breaks in the coastal areas of the town. Reports showed that several television and movie stars have already acquired lots near the beaches of Barangay Bian, in front of majestic West Philippine Sea, where another renewable solar energy plant project is scheduled to rise in a few months.

He added the unprecedented economic growth of the Authority of the Free Port Area of Bataan (AFAB) in the past three years has generated interest for investors and visitors to see the various developments specially the coast of Mariveles town.

The expansion in AFAB and five other special economic zones in the province is reportedly the primary reason why Manila-based property developers are readying the implementation of housing development plans for the expected market, intended for local and foreign personnel, Gonzales added.
