Former CL’s CIDG regional director is new Bataan PNP chief

CAMP CIRILO TOLENTINO – Bataan Governor Albert Raymond Garcia together with the municipal mayors from the province’s 11 towns and a component city here witnessed the change of command for the new provincial director (PD) of the Bataan Police Provincial Office (BPPO) today.

PSUPT. Enrico H. Vargas, Officer-in-Charge, Regional Personnel &Human Resource Development Division read the Relief/Designation Orders, after which outgoing PD PSSUPT Rhodel Sermonia delivered his valedictory remarks.

 

The officers and men of the Bataan Provincial Police Office took this opportunity to present outgoing PD Sermonia a plaque of recognition for his capable supervision, direction as well as the skills and abilities he shared that developed and empowered them to bring glitter not only to the Bataan PPO but to the PNP organization in general. A Medalya ng Kasanayan was also presented to PD Sermonia.

 

Senior Supt. Benjamin “Benjie” Silo, Jr. former Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) regional director for Central Luzon assumed office as the new PD replacing Senior Supt. Rhodel Sermonia.

 

Also a lawyer, Atty. Silo passed the bar exam in 2007.

 

He also served as chief of police of the towns of Orion, Abucay, Mariveles, and Balanga City before he became the provincial commander of the Provincial Public Safety Company (PPSC-Bataan).

 

Silo also became the chief for investigation of the CIDG in Camp Crame from 2012 to 2014.

 

In June 2014 to November 2015, he became the regional chief of CIDG Bicol region before he assumed office as CIDG regional chief for Central Luzon.

 

PCSUPT Benjamin T. Hulipas, Deputy Regional Director for Administration was guest speaker.

 

Also in attendance were representatives of the multisectoral organizations who serve as drug convenors headed by Metro Bataan Development Authority Chairman, former Pilar Mayor, Charlie Pizarro, student groups, other nongovernment organizations and members of the media.
