BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Bataan Governor Albert Raymond S. Garcia and local police authorities here are scouting for a suitable site exclusively intended for women drug dependents reformation center.
Senior Superintendent Benjamin Silo, Bataan provincial police director, described the reformation mission for former female drug users and pushers is a more complex component exercising due diligence of maternal treatment and care with housekeeping feature of restructuring family bond to lasting peace and propriety.
According to Silo, the Governor stressed the best option is to provide a separate comfortable home for volunteers of Bagong Pagasa Reformation Center for women in the capital town to prepare them to face the harsh challenges on the way to productive lives.
Silo, a lawyer, said the projected number of volunteers may increase further under the Philippine National Police Oplan “Tokhang“(knock and surrender appeal operation) which has favorably gained public acceptance.
At present, Bataan has two operational reformation centers which could accommodate some 100 volunteers in the two congressional districts of the province. The main center is located at Camp Tolentino, Bataan police headquarters and the newly inaugurated two storey building in Barangay Lamao,Limay town.
