ABUCAY, Bataan – Junior Girl Scouts of the Philippines coming from eight districts of this province participated in a skills training course spearheaded by the Bataan Girl Scout Council held at the Kaka Senen Farm Resort, Mabatang, this town, last Aug. 26-28.
“Ang layunin kung bakit namin ginawa itong activity na ito ay para mas ma-strengthen pa yung leadership skills ng mga bata,” said Ms. Divina Agustin, Council Executive.
During the opening program, after Ms. Estrella Dela Rosa, Council President, gave her welcome greetings, a rededication to the Girl Scout’s Promise and Law was conducted.
On the second day, physical fitness, biodiversity challenge, forest trail, games and the showcasing of talents were held which were facilitated by Troop Leaders Ms. Leonory Canare, Ms. Mary Ann Aclado, Ms. Amelyn Zulueta, Ms. Erlin Carag, Ms. Ludivina Omania, Ms. Imelda Martin, Ms. Marise Barlis, and Mr. Ariel Canete.
“Sa last day, ginawa namin yung Scouts Own, Water Challenge at nagkaroon din ng seminar- workshop on giving first aid kung saan members ng Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council yung nag-train sa mga bata,” said Agustin.
A total of 82 participants (73 Junior Girl Scouts who are Grade Four to Six students and 9 Troop Leaders who are teachers) attended the three-day training. They came from the districts of Pilar, Limay, Balanga, Dinalupihan, Mariveles, Bagac, Hermosa and Abucay.
Other troop leaders who were part of the training team were Ms. Anita De Dios, Ms. Arcele Servera and Mr. Randy Salandanan.
The Bataan Girl Scout Council is founded to enable girls and young women to develop their fullest potential as responsible citizens of the world.
