Drug free Bataan stimulates progress in rural communities

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Metro Bataan Development Authority (MBDA) chair and former Pilar town mayor Charlie Pizarro has urged local government officials, private organizations  and residents to undertake cohesive action plan against prohibited drugs to safeguard the socio-economic objective of Governor Albert Raymond S. Garcia of creating  the province as the premier investment hub in Central Luzon.

Pizarro, who represented Governor Garcia in the awarding rites of 10 winners in the ust concluded poster and slogan making contest against illegal drugs said, “as different government agencies are collectively shaping attractive economic measures for potential investors, the residents, private and public entities should devise efficient approaches of providing unified institutional activities to achieve a drug –free community.”

He also said, the unquestionable reputation of Bataan as a highly-advantageous   and productive business haven must be maintained to ensure the arrival of entrepreneurs to the historic peninsula.

Stressing the strong  economic policy of Governor Garcia geared toward making the historical province the preferred agro-industrial investment site in the country, Pizarro stressed the local government would continue its long-range development agenda focusing on enhancing the foundations to achieve progress, building solid establishments for transparency  and accountable governance and improving conditions for peace and stability.

Pizarro, chairman of the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drug Convenor of the Bataan Provincial Police Office, has expressed his optimism that the entire  province will become drug free as long as the multi-sectoral agencies and residents would take a bigger responsibility to confront the threat of  prohibited drugs  in the community.
