Baras-Bataan all set for ‘World Pull-up Day’

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Baras Bataan Calisthenics Street Workout is now gearing up towards its goal of obtaining more than one thousand pull-ups in an international event tagged as “World Pull-up Day” that is set to happen on Sept. 10.

On the event proper, activities were prepared such as competitions on push-ups, pull-ups, squats and planks which are open not only for the members of the organization but also for everyone.

The event venue will be at the Plaza Mayor de Ciudad de Balanga that will start from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

With more than 8,000 pull-ups, last year, the Philippines ranked 3rd with Russia as the 1st place and the United States of America as second. This year, the Philippines is preparing enough to land on the highest spot.

The pull-up points in the country aside from Bataan are in Manila and Iloilo wherein the result will be known a day after the event. “During the event, ituturo din namin yung mga basic na bodyweight workout kasi madalang yung mga nakakaalam ng bodyweight so magandang ma-inform sila,” said Jared Morales, Baras-Bataan member.

The international organizer of this event is the World Street Workout and Calisthenics Federation from the country of Latvian with Maris Slezins serving as the chairman.
