LIMAY, Bataan – ELA or the Executive Legislative Agenda is a mutually developed and agreed upon plan by the Executive and Legislative departments of the LGU’s, conceived as a powerful vehicle for effective local governance.

As mandated by Law, ELA should be finished within the first 100 days in office of the local officials, thus all municipal officials in the province are into completion of their ELA.

As for this town, they are in the finalization stage of their ELA which coincides with their centennial year, and DILG-Bataan Planning Officer, Yvette Cosio said that the “Smart Green Industrial Concept” of their town seems  to be one of the most unique and the first they’ve come across within the country.

“Smart Green Industrial concept” is what the municipal officials intend to achieve by 2020 in their plan with the end product of good quality of life for their people, according to Mayor Ver Roque.

Roque added that “Smart” signifies the use of modern technology (ICT) in their comprehensive plan, that despite the massive industrialization of Limay and computerization, they will maintain the ecological balance of the environment, as their “Green” concept.

Still in the finalization stage, Mayor Ver said that taking the right path ahead requires a careful planning which involves a programmatic approach to collaborate not only with the local officials, NGO’s but more so with their industrial stakeholders whereby the plan should not just be possible but workable.

Lastly Mayor Ver said that the community can only be as good and progressive as the people that comprises it, thus they are organizing public assemblies for the people to participate, through simple ways that can inject their ideas as well as know the content of their ELA and what to expect from their officials.
