Bataan, 2016 PWD friendly province in Region 3

CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – During a simple awarding ceremony at the Eurotel Hotel in Balibago, Angeles City yesterday, December 8, Bataan was adjudged PWD (Persons with Disability) Friendly Province in Region 3 for the year 2016 by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) Chief, Marilyn C. Tigas, together with officers of the Samahan ng mga Taong May Kapansanan sa Bataan (SATAMAKABA) received the award.

In her short message, Mrs. Tigas expressed her gratitude to Governor Abet S. Garcia and the rest of the local government officials of the province down to the municipalities and barangays for their all-out support.

This award is another clear indicator that the initiatives, programs and services being implemented in the province are all geared towards the realization of its vision that by the year 2020, Bataan Province will have the lowest poverty incidence resulting from quality growth attaining top level human development index in the Philippines.
