Bataan focuses on efficiency, inclusivity and sustainability

CAPITOL COMPOUND – Committed on providing a better, if not the best quality of life for Bataeños, Governor Albert S. Garcia revisited the province’s vision and came up with: “By 2020, Bataan Province will have the lowest poverty incidence resulting from quality growth attaining top-level human development index in the Philippines.”

Drawing on the strength of Bataan’s strategic location, our vision leans toward industrialization that will fuel our economic growth. The lowest poverty incidence can be achieved through the implementation of economic programs and policies. In fact, based on the latest poverty incidence data released by PSA, Bataan ranked 2nd among the least poor provinces in the Philippines.

Quality growth means an efficient, inclusive and sustainable economy. An efficient economy is not wasteful, programs are well planned and would use minimum amount of resources, inclusivity will involve municipalities, national agencies, barangays and even the most vulnerable members of the society while sustainable means there will be a balanced developmental approach between industrialization and protection and proper management of our environmental resources, the environment will not be sacrificed at the peril of the next generation.
