PHO bags 7 regional excellence awards

ANGELES CITY, Pampanga – The Provincial Health Office (PHO) led by Dr. Rosanna Buccahan, took home seven recognitions during the 5th Central Luzon Excellence Awards for Health 2016, held at Royce Hotel, this City, yesterday February 9, for their efforts in providing quality health services to their fellow Bataeños.

During an exclusive interview with Dr. Buccahan, she cited the following awards that Bataan got: National Tuberculosis Control Program Achievement Award, Tobacco Control Program Achievement Award, Outstanding Healthy Lifestyle Advocacy Award, Top Performing Provinces on Community-Based Donations, Excellence Award for Malaria Control Elimination Program, Family Planning Achievement Award and Best Environmental Sanitation Initiative.

Dr. Buccahan also told 1Bataan that they got these awards because of the projects they implemented for the year 2016 such as Water Quality Monitoring System (the first and only WQMS in the region), intensive Dengue and Malaria Control, smoke-free advocacy BEST in BATAAN campaign (healthy lifestyle campaign) and strong information dissemination about family planning.

Also present at the awarding ceremony were Program coordinators Catherine Pelaez, Sarah Villaruel, Perlita Ortiguerra and Rosana Diuco.
