PVO spearheads meat processing demo

ORION, BATAAN – In collaboration with the Department of Agriculture (DA) Region III Office, the Provincial Government of Bataan (PGB) through the Provincial Veterinarian Office (PVO) conducted a Livelihood Improvement Program for Coastal Barangays through a meat processing demo with the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries of Brgy. Kapunitan, this town as participants.

Said event, held yesterday, March 8 at the Barangay Hall of Kapunitan was graced by the PVO Dept. Head Alberto S. Venturina, DVM who also delivered the opening remarks. He said that Governor Albert Garcia really wanted to bring the services of PGB closer to Bataeños that’s why they are conducting extension services such as this.

Board Member Jose Villapando Jr., chair of Agriculture Committee of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan also attended the event and inspired the participants by telling them that successful business ventures started from humble beginnings. “Malay nyo, dito pala kayo yayaman kapag sineryoso nyo ito. Ladder yan, kelangan nyo lang magsimula sa maliit at magtyaga para magtagumpay”, he emphasized.

Animal Products and By-Products Utilization (APBPU) Provincial Coordinator Mrs. Trinidad Tallorin and APBPU Regional Coordinator Mrs. Isla Lapuz conducted the lecture proper and led the hands on demonstration on the preparatrion of different processed meat products such as hamburger patties, skinless longganisa and tocino.

Participants took home the products they made as their souvenir in the event. They also received a certificate of competency which they can use when applying for a job locally and abroad.
