DINALUPIHAN, Bataan – A P6 million-peso rural health unit, birthing station, day care center and a senior citizens’ hall are being built in one compound in Barangay New San Jose in this first class municipality.
The site of the project is formerly a barangay health center set to be converted into a bigger, mixed-use project.
In a press briefing at the site of the project, Mayor Gila Garcia said that at present, her town with 46 barangays (villages) only has two rural health units.
“We have a big population here in Dinalupihan and we only have two RHUs. That’s why we decided to construct this third RHU along with other public buildings for our constituents,” Mayor Garcia told 1Bataan.com.
The birthing station, Garcia added, will serve as the medical facility for normal pregnancies within and all villages near the site of the project while difficult pregnancies must be brought and treated at the Dinalupihan District Hospital or the Bataan General Hospital in Balanga City.
It also aims to decongest the district hospital.
