PHO spearheads ASEAN Dengue Day celebration

CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – The Provincial Government of Bataan through the Provincial Health Office (PHO) headed by Dr. Rosanna Buccahan led this year’s celebration of the ASEAN Dengue Day last Friday, June 30, at La Vista Inland Resort, this City.

In the essence of decreasing the number of dengue cases and spreading full awareness of the disease, the PHO makes sure that they accomplish such things through celebrations like these.

Dr. Buccahan opened the program through her short message and welcomed representatives from the different municipalities and lone city of this province, the SB and SP on health of those municipalities and city, guests from the Balanga City Lion’s Club, representatives from DOH Bataan, and guests from other health agencies.

The talk on the global, regional, and provincial perspectives of dengue status was given by Mr. Michael Baluyot of PHO. After that, they proceeded to the highlight of the event: the dengue booth contest. In this contest, the different municipalities and city showcased their good practices on dengue awareness and prevention. Votes were gathered from the guests and judges, resulting to this:
