BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Balanga fisherfolk are seen to hugely benefit in the establishment of a Community Fishlanding Center here.
City Mayor Francis Garcia and Vice Mayor Vianca Venzon-Gozon recently led city officials, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) officers, and fisherfolk in the ground breaking of the construction of the center in Barangay Puerto Rivas Ibaba.
“Fisherfolk in the coastal villages of the city will hugely benefit in the project”, said Councilor Benjie Merino.
He said BFAR is funding the construction of the center. During the ground breaking ceremony, BFAR officials turned over the ceremonial check to Garcia and Venzon-Gozon for the project.
The tandem of Garcia and Venzon-Gozon is committed to improve the plight of the fisherfolk in the city.
