Insurgency free Bataan rises to economic prosperity

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Governor Albert Raymond S. Garcia has expressed his utmost gratitude to the barangay officials for their competent support and uncompromising commitments of making the historic peninsula the first insurgency free province in Central Luzon.

Having an insurgency free and peaceful environment, business–friendly  and advantageous location  with pulsating Freeport and economic zones, inter-connectivity and accessibility  to the country’s central government combined with three flourishing Freeport’s in Central Luzon ,high human index are few unquestionably excellent and remarkable performance achievement feats of the fastest growing industrial hub in Central Luzon, Governor Garcia said.

Speaking before some 237 barangay captains in the province during its year end assessment held recently at Emiliana Hall here, Governor Garcia has recognized the contributions of the local and barangay official, multisectoral entities and the residents of providing significant involvement to the peaceful solution of insurgency problem in Bataan.

The problem of insurgency which viewed the historic peninsula as Communist hot bed in the 70’s and early part of 80s’ miraculously unloosed from the Maoist  influence with the government peace initiatives and introduction of fundamentally sound cohesive and comprehensive socio-economic development scheme   and good governance in the local setting.

With these substantial achievements, the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) had declared Bataan as the lowest registered poverty incidence level of 1.6 per cent against the national average of 22 percent poverty incidence, the Governor has identified the good performance due to the magnificent economic strategic objectives and other viable reforms locally implemented for the past years.

Governor Garcia added the province has low unemployment rate because of massive hiring of workforce in the newly established factories and expansion   of labor-intensive commercial and industrial foreign and local owned entrepreneurs located in the several economic zones and opening of business districts adjacent to those economic zones situated in the towns of Mariveles, Limay, Morong and Hermosa in the province.
