ABUCAY, Bataan – A fishpond owner and former tiger grass distributor to household broom makers in Barangay Mabatang, one of the most progressive communities in this town has predicted the beneficial impact of the implementation of vital infrastructure road network and creation of a commercial district here.
Alfredo Soriano, 61, believes the on-going infrastructure and commercial set-up would make the town a more feasible site for agro-industrial growth.
Soriano, son of former Abucay town mayor Antonio Soriano, has cited the business acumen of the current local leadership in his capacity as a topnotch private entrepreneur from Mindanao and Metro Manila as solid managerial ingredient to propel the former agricultural town into a potential educational and commercial center in Northern Bataan.
In pursuing his idealistic and strategic economic scheme, Soriano narrated the goal of Mayor Liberato Santiago, Jr. of structurally building a program of agricultural diversity and commercial flexibility along the Roman Expressway area of this town which is fast becoming a marketable place.
He noticed the construction of several concrete roads connecting the town proper to the fast growing commercial district in the periphery of Roman Expressway is a key accessibility factor which encourages investors to the town.
The entry of business organizations in the field of housing subdivisions and property leasing, small and medium entrepreneurs, fast food and service-oriented activities would eventually create job opportunities, revenues for local government and other socio-economic incentives.
