An agricultural community becomes a culinary haven

PILAR, Bataan – The strategic location of an agricultural community here as crossroad to burgeoning Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB), the country’s first export processing zone and historical Mount Samat National Shrine is fast becoming a popular culinary haven and commercial center of the province.

Pilar Mayor Alice D. Pizarro is optimistic about the significant development of the farming village of Ala-Uli, this town, as preferred dining place serving countless array of Kapampangan cuisines for local and foreign visitors.

This latest noteworthy scenario is reportedly the outcome of the timely establishment of the multi-billion peso Bataan Vista Mall, the largest shopping mall in the province, which is geographically situated near the boundary of Balanga City and Pilar town.

Mayor Pizarro said a number of respected movie actors and actresses, mountain bikers, surfers and other sports enthusiasts, private and government employees who conducted their team building activities in the two coastal towns of Bagac and Morong became satisfied customers of the five –medium sized restaurants, gift shops and fruit stands in the area.

According to Mayor Pizarro, the Municipal Tourism Council has projected a vibrant and dynamic commercial growth with the implementation of delineation plan of 50 meters both sides of the service road of Roman Expressway and Governor Linao National Road for commercial purposes.

The lady municipal executive reiterated the on-going expansion plan does not exceed the 10 percent allowable legal conversion rate of agricultural land for commercial use.

She added that a long range plan has been drawn-up which aims to make Pilar town a historical, cultural and tourism center in Central Luzon by year 2020.
