New capitol building to open in 2019

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The P1.2 billion Bataan provincial capitol and mixed use regional government complex scheduled to open in 2019 would enhance investments and improve the level of public services .
Engineer Arleen R. Santos, assistant provincial engineer, has stressed the seventh floor capitol building which is known as the “Bunker” would have a total floor area of about 23,800 square meters with six elevators to ferry visitors and employees.
The principal feature of the new Bataan government center and business hub is its entirely unique design of paying homage to Filipino–American soldiers who fought and died in the historic peninsula.
The top floor is set aside for the Office of the Governor and Provincial Legal Office while the sixth floor is intended for the Offices of the Vice Governor , Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) members and SP session hall.
The fifth, fourth and third floors are reserved for the provincial and national agencies, government –owned and controlled corporations or their frontline services to be relocated at the new capitol site.
Engineer Santos said the second floor is for the regional trial court offices while the first floor of the building is to be occupied by the two government –owned banks.
National and provincial officials have identified the operation of a strong and dynamic institution that would offer one-stop-shop facility in Bataan for clients to facilitate and fast track the processing of requirements necessary for setting up business and other productive activities.
Governor Albert Raymond S. Garcia has described the construction of the new capitol building under the Public-Private Partnership scheme as a proactive collaboration of both the provincial and national government will be sourced to effectively implement their mandates and ensure quality and accessible customer services.
The project will certainly contribute to higher valuation of the areas brought about by the commercialization, business interest and other relevant services rendered by local and national agencies as well as job generation from the proposed establishment of information technology-business process outsourcing industry in Bataan.
