BALANGA CITY,Bataan- The provincial government has earmarked P16.7 million for the installation of 875 units of streetlights and payment of electric bills along the stretch of 68 kilometer Roman Expressway for the improvement of safety measures and providing traffic management mechanism for the unconstrained delivery of goods and services.
Engineer Enrico T. Yuzon, Bataan provincial engineer, explained that Governor Albert Garcia sees the presence of good road infrastructure facilities and installation of streetlights are principal components of Bataan’s sustainable development strategy.
Engineer Yuzon has specified that the first batch of the streetlights installation project worth P8 million covers the setting up of 400 lamp and arm from the town of Orani to Orion which started last October 13 and is expected to be completed by the end of October 2018.
While waiting for the supplemental budget of P 8.7 million for the acquisition of 475 lamp and arm for the second batch covering Orion to Mariveles, Yuzon said the significant function of the project would uplift the socio-economic development of the historic peninsula and competitive investment advantages to other provinces in Central Luzon.
Engineer Yuzon has designated Engineer Aviva Limos, Engineer II of the Provincial Engineers’ Office to oversee the project which is one of the 16 priority projects of Governor Garcia under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) scheme.
The improvement of road network serves as import-export routes for raw materials and quality fashionable products to international markets, efficient transport of petroleum, LPG, grains fertilizer and other equally important raw materials for the operation of local industries.
