SATAMAKABA CBR bags Gapas Award for the 2nd time

CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – The Samahan ng mga Taong may Kapansanan sa Bataan (SATAMAKABA CBR, INC.) bagged the 2019 Gapas Award Best People’s Organization for the second time around in generously supporting the Social Welfare Development advocacies, programs, projects, and communication thrust of the Department of Social and Welfare Development (DSWD).
People’s Organization – Bataan President Elenita Cruz and Vice President Loida Medina received the award during the awarding ceremonies held at the Landbank of the Philippines Auditorium, Malate, Manila last February 15.
According to Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) Focal Person Rolando Cortez, the 2018 achievements were presented in order to be qualified for the award. He also mentioned that in order to achieve this, there are certain criteria given such as best practices both from the LGU and the organization itself, innovation in utilizing the programs given to them, create events which will showcase the talents of each members, and how the government reaches out to persons with disability.
He proudly said that in Region III, Province of Bataan is the only province which has 100% support to persons with disability. The organization has a monthly meeting to enhance various programs given to them by the Provincial Government of Bataan in partnership with the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO).
To date, Samahan ng mga Taong may Kapansanan sa Bataan (SATAMAKABA CBR, INC.) has more than 8,000 members all over the province.
