‘Love without generosity is useless’

DINALUPIHAN, Bataan – ‘Love without generosity is useless.’ So goes the admonition of Fr. Ramon G. Mariano who celebrated the Holy Mass during last Wednesday’s “Kasalang Bayan” sponsored by Mayor Gila Garcia and Vice Mayor Renato Matawaran.
Fr. Mariano told the 65 couples from the different villages of Dinalupihan who received the certificates of civil marriage from the Office of the Municipal M ayor to equate love with 100 percent of generosity and abundance of loving care.
“Let us love fully, let us love with generosity. Kailangan ang sipag at tiyaga, you must learn the rudiments of love,” said Fr. Mariano who also encouraged the couples to avail of the sacrament of Holy Matrimony of the Church not just through the civil rites.
Mayor Gila Garcia pointed out that under RA 7160 (The Local Government Code) municipal mayors are allowed to conduct civil marriage to willing couples who cannot afford costly church wedding, although Fr. Mariano had emphasized during the “Kasalang Bayan” that couples are not obliged to pay for wedding services in the church “but they are given the option to give some donations.”
