BALANGA CITY, Bataan – In observance of this year’s National Disaster Resilience Month, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC), along with Local Government Units and rescue teams, gathered together to spread awareness and preparedness for any calamity that may hit the province.
The long-month nationwide campaign carries the theme “Kahandaan sa sakuna’t peligro para sa tunay na pagbabago” that involves activities covering four thematic areas namely disaster prevention and mitigation, disaster preparedness, disaster response and disaster rehabilitation and recovery.
The kick-off ceremony began with a motorcade that ended at Bataan Police Provincial Office Covered court at Camp Cirilio Tolentino, this city. From there a mass was held followed by an Exerdance Competition participated by LGUs and other agencies. The Metro Bataan Development Authority (MBDA) in the said competition.
PDRRMC Head, Josefina Timoteo in her speech, said “despite having other activities related to this event, PDRRMC, LGUs and rescue teams ensure that we are prepared for any calamity that may hit the province.
Executive order no. 29 issued in 2017, changed National Disaster Consciousness Month to National Disaster Resilience Month.
