P 94 million road project to enrich farm productivity in Bataan town

BALANGA CITY, Bataan- The Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) here bared the other day that the World Bank is set to finance the rehabilitation of the 5.2 kilometers Sitio Nazareno – Culis Farm to Market Road worth about P 94 million located in Barangays Culis and Bamban, Hermosa, to provide better accessibility for the farmers and residents in transporting their agricultural crops to the market and for extensive delivery of social amenities.
Engineer Johanna R. Dizon, provincial agriculturist, said Governor Albert Garcia gave the go signal for the implementation of the World Bank road project which is an offshoot of the projected improvement of road network for swift productive activities, better coverage of benefit from government health and social programs.

She explained said project is mainly funded by World Bank, with 80 % of the total project cost, while the 20 % is from the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the local government unit as their counterpart in the worthy project.
Ms. Dizon has specified the infrastructure plan of Governor Garcia is focused on the development of agricultural sector to achieve food sufficiency and security for the growing populace and the expected influx of local and foreign locators and workers in the designated areas for ecozones and industrial estates of the province.
The new road would lead to the identification of selected business and industrial spaces for possible expansion of Hermosa Economic Zone, a fast growing economic zone in Central Luzon, based on the established criteria and to integrate them into strategic destination area or agricultural district with special themes, products and market positioning to guide the local government in securing resources to support its development.
