Hermosa-LGU destroys fake cigarettes seized in Hermosa

Hermosa Mayor Jopet Inton on Monday morning led the presentation to the public the recent accomplishments of the Hermosa Municipal Police Station (MPS) led by Police Major Madtaib Jalman, in support to the Provincial Government of Bataan’s anti- smoking campaign.

“Yung kapulisan natin nakahuli ng mga fake na sigarilyo na binebenta sa mga upland areas. Nahuli nila ito sa Brgy. Mabiga, Hermosa. Mga suspect dito ay taga Brgy. Saguing ng Dinalupihan, Taga Brgy. San Pedro at Taga Brgy. Bamban,” Municipal Councilor Luz J. Samaniego reported after the traditional Hermosa LGU Monday flag raising ceremony.

A symbolic destruction of the contraband was done by Hermosa officials led by Mayor Inton, Councilor Samaniego and Major Jalman.

Major Jalman said during their recent police operations, they have confiscated an estimated 1,800 packs of cigarette with a street value of P70,000 from the arrested suspects.

The suspects were charged with violation of Hermosa Municipal Resolution No. 2015-036, series of 2015, an adoption of the Bataan Sangguniang Panlalawigan Ordinance No. 01 Series of 2013 or the “Comprehensive Anti-Tobacco Smoking Control Program Ordinance for the Province of Bataan.”
