Provincial Council on Disability Affairs (PCDA) through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) celebrates the 41st National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) week together with the different municipalities of the province today, July 17 at Vista Mall, Bataan.
Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Representative Rico Bacuyag discussed the different programs designed for persons with disability which they can avail for free. They are welcome to visit and inquire in their office.
He also mentioned Republic Act 10524 that expands the positions reserved for persons with disability namely to have an equal opportunity for employment and have at least 1% of all positions in all government agencies, offices, or corporations. PCDA is also checking every municipality if it complies with the requirement of 1% person with disability employment.
DOLE in partnership with Public Employment Information System (PESO) has given a lot of livelihood assistance to the following municipalities such as Dinalupihan, Hermosa, Orani, Mariveles, Bagac, and Morong. Livelihood assistance includes distribution of NegoKart, rice retail business, and printing of bags and t-shirt.
Aside from the lecture on DOLE’s livelihood assistance, Office of the Provincial Agriculture (OPA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and Red Cross gave free services such as giving away of free seedlings, free business consultation, and free blood type check. Persons with disability also showcased their talents through poster making and performances in the PCDA Got Talent.
