Mayor Inton asks trike drivers to wear ID

Hermosa Mayor Jopet Inton said on Monday he will require tricycle drivers from the neighboring town of Orani to wear identification cards following complaints that they were barred from fetching their relatives working in the Hermosa Special Economic Zone.

The tricycle drivers trooped to the office of the mayor to resolve the issues once and for all. Mayor Inton asked his team and some members of the Sangguniang Bayan to adopt certain measures on how to help the tricycle drivers.
It was reported earlier that some tricycle drivers from Orani were “actually ferrying passengers thus competing with legitimate tricycle drivers in Hermosa.” This allegation, however, was denied by trike drivers from Orani.

In the meantime, Mayor Inton said the trike drivers should be issued “safe conduct pass” while the issue is being resolved by a team from Sangguniang Bayan of Hermosa.
“Ang pinakamaganda diyan pati picture ng kamag-anak na susunduin ilagay din sa ID nila,” said the mayor.
