Modern traffic lights and road safety system to hasten Bataan’s progress

The installation of modern traffic lights and enforcement of effective road safety system along the 68-kilometer Roman Expressway are expected to become strategic attributes to the province as a top-notch eco-industrial and tourism investment hub in Central Luzon.

The signaling devices positioned at road intersections connecting the municipality of Dinalupihan to Mariveles in the southern Bataan would provide effective safety measures and to control smooth flow of traffic for locators, workers, commuters, pedestrians, foreign and local tourists, tankers and cargo trucks and entities which would improve further the local sustainable economic growth.

Mr. Leo Ruben Manrique, secretary of the Sangguniang Bayan of Abucay, said the province’s premier road network was originally conceived to serve the country first export processing zone in Mariveles town but it later became a virtual location for industrial, commercial and other small and medium entrepreneurs from Bataan and neighboring provinces of Central Luzon.
The installation of traffic lights mechanism is purposely for the convenience, safety and security of motorists, cargo trucks, oil tankers, local and foreign guests and other stakeholders using the Roman Expressway which is the main road that connects municipalities and the lone component city of the province including vital industrial areas like Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB), Petron Bataan Refinery, the Petrochem Park, Special Economic Defense Zone and Hermosa Special Zone and the Mount Samat Tourism Enterprise and Infrastruct
