After the fire that gutted 600 houses in the coastal barangay of Capunitan latter part of January this year, the survivors had to start all over again by building their shelter in nearby Barangay Daan-Pare.
The families numbering 150 are awaiting the construction of decent housing facilities as promised them by the local governments of Orion as well as the provincial government of Bataan.
Earlier, Orion Mayor Antonio Raymundo and Bataan Gov. Abet Garcia discussed with the National Housing Authority (NHA) the construction of housing facilities worth millions of pesos on lands purchased by the local government.
More than 1,000 families were displaced by the January 29, 2019 fire that gutted 600 houses, most of whom are engaged in fishing.
