Rep. Garcia urges farmers to submit irrigation master plan early

CONGRESSMAN Jose Enrique S. Garcia III of Bataan Second District urged on Friday farmers and members of irrigation associations to submit as early as possible their irrigation master plan in time for the national government’s preparation of budget.

Garcia made the appeal during the National Irrigation Administration’s Second Stakeholders’ Forum held at the Pan Resort & Hotel in Abucay town where more or less a hundred farmers and municipal irrigation association members gathered.

He said, “Mahirap mag-request paghuli na. Dapat simula pa lang ng taon mag-submit na tayo ng ating irrigation master plan.”
“The best time to submit such plan is July or after the President’s state of the nation address (Sona),” Congressman Joet said. He admitted though that even if President Duterte’s heart is close to the farmers, still the Department of Budget and Management find it hard to spare fund.
