Ecozone in every town seen

REP. Jose Enrique S. Garcia III last week disclosed that an economic zone in every municipality of Bataan will soon be realized following the recent discussion and approval of the implementing rules and regulations (IRR) of R.A. 11453, an Act Further Strengthening the Powers and Function of the AFAB Which Amends the Provisions of Freeport Area of Bataan.
The said law aims to enhance FAB’s international positioning and competitiveness, encourage higher migration of business and skilled workers into the province of Bataan.

“With this, every municipality can now have its own economic zone but this will be approved by the municipal council,” said Garcia during the second InvestBalanga awarding ceremonies held at the Emiliana Hall last weekend.
He said any municipality can have its own industrial estate but this will be achieved with the approval of local government unit. Garcia said he appreciates the role of Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in luring prospective investors to the province.
With the ecozone, tremendous increase in income for every municipality is always possible. Garcia cited the case of Mariveles town which had realized 400% increase in income.
