On sale under blue-colored tents are buko pie, araro and other cookies, smoked and dried fish, bagoong, organic vegetables, cashew nuts, kapeng barako, walis lasa, pillows, bags, slippers, kapis products; among other items raised and produced in 11 towns and one city in Bataan.
Also displayed in some booths are tourist sites like Dunsulan Falls in Pilar town where a tree hopping adventure and zipline are located; falls and resorts in Abucay and bird-watching sites in Balanga City.
Gov. Albert Garcia said the trade fair is among many other activities lined up for the 72nd Araw ng Kagitingan celebration.
“This will culminate in a program in Mt. Samat on April 9 where Pres. Benigno S. Aquino III with the ambassadors to the Philippines of the United States and Japan will join veterans of World War II and other guests,” the Governor said.
Before April 9, there will be a marathon to trace the Death March, tribute to the heroes, drum & bugle corps exhibition, floats of events in World War II and other activities.
Garcia said they are in full support of the veterans in the form of rice subsidy and medical assistance. “Tutulungan natin sila habang sila’y nabubuhay.”
