The Provincial Government of Bataan recognized leading taxpayers for strengthening provincial revenues and sustaining essential public services during the recent 269th Bataan Foundation Day celebrations.
Among the awardees were AboitizPower’s GNPower Mariveles Energy Center Ltd. Co. (GMEC) and GNPower Dinginin Ltd. Co. (GNPD), both major power-generating facilities in Mariveles, which were cited for their substantial real property tax contributions to the province.
GMEC and GNPD ranked among the top real property taxpayers in the Industrial Business category for 2024.
The recognitions were conferred through the Sinag ng Bataan awards, which honor individuals and organizations whose contributions continue to drive Bataan’s economic growth and development.
The awarding ceremony was held on January 9 at the Bataan Tourism Pavilion in this city.
GNPD received the Sinag ng Bataan–Alab Award after placing Top 2 Real Property Taxpayer, while GMEC ranked Top 4 in the same category.
Provincial officials said the consistent tax payments of large energy and industrial firms play a critical role in funding infrastructure projects, social services, and other development programs of the provincial government.
The provincial government also acknowledged companies operating within the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) for their compliance with national and local tax obligations.
Mitsumi Philippines, Inc. was cited as the Top 1 taxpayer under the one-percent share from the five-percent Gross Income Earned of FAB-registered enterprises for Fiscal Year 2024.
