Young Minds Make Smart Moves at 3rd Mayor Richie Jason David Chess Tournament

LIMAY, BATAAN — Young chess enthusiasts took center stage as the 3rd Mayor Richie Jason David Cup Chess Tournament (Open, 13 years old and below) was held on January 17, 2025 at the Limay Sports Complex, drawing promising players from across the province.

The tournament was organized in partnership with Bataan Elite Chess Knight Inc., NCD Limay Chess Team, Limay Junior and Kiddie Chess Club, Bataan Chess Players, EDM Chess Academy, J Go Kart, and Aries PCdoctors, ensuring a competitive yet supportive environment for the young contenders.

Throughout the matches, participants showcased sharp strategies, discipline, and determination, reflecting not only their mastery of the game but also the values of focus and sportsmanship honed through chess.

The Local Government of Limay reaffirmed its continued support for programs that nurture youth talent, emphasizing chess and other developmental initiatives as pathways toward discipline, excellence, and a brighter future for the next generation.
