Mariveles sectors meet to boost tourism

The Mariveles Tourism Council met last Friday to discuss plans to project the coastal industrial town as a tourist destination.

The local tourism council chaired by Atty. Fe Concepcion tackled tourism-related issues with representatives of Mariveles Historical Council, 1Siklab ChoreographeRs, and other sectors whose concerns included promoting cultural heritage, history, and tourism in the municipality.

Host to the sprawling 360-hectare Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB), formerly the Bataan Economic Zone, Mariveles is dotted with undeveloped World War II historical sites.

Participants in the coordination meeting offered varied visions and ideas on how to boost future fiestas, religious, and cultural activities as part of the municipal government’s program to attract tourists – local and foreign.

In coordination with the Department of Tourism, the participants in the just concluded meeting will attend in the forthcoming festival management workshop.
